All is now set for the 2017 Convention of the Alumni Association of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, as the event has been scheduled for October 12th and 13th, 2017.
The Chairman of Planning Committee, Mr. Kunle Adetoba, in a statement, said, “The first day of the convention will feature Students Empowerment Programme: SEP 3.0, entitled, The Brand Called You!; Mentoring Exchange; Induction of Graduating Students and Stakeholders’ Cocktail.
“The second day will feature Annual Lecture, entitled, “Strategies for Transforming from Cost Center to Profit Center: Personal and Organizational Perspectives”; Panel Discussion; Induction into the AAUA Hall of Fame, Donation to the University, among others.”
Mr. Adetoba added that the SEP 3.0 would be handled by Mr. Patrick Oluyide, a Business Consultant/Strategist, and AAUA Worldwide Alumni President, while the Annual Lecture would be delivered by Mr. Yinka Olugbodi, Managing Consultant and Team Lead at the Team Building International, Lagos, under the chairmanship of Chief Segun Ojo, Chairman of Odu’a Investment Company, LTD.
The Chairman sought the support of all the graduates of the University for the programme and urged them to attend.

SECURITY/SAFETY AWARENESS
Following the reported arrest of two Boko Haram suspects, Idris Ibrahim and Mohammed Bashir, in Isua Akoko recently, which has fuelled the alleged presence of Boko Haram members in Ondo State, Management would like to advise all the students and staff of the University to be security conscious within and outside the campus.
Consequently, all students and staff are enjoined to report suspicious faces, movements or any strange activity noticed within the campus and their neighborhood to the University Security Unit, the Nigerian Police or any of the available security operatives.
All students and staff are advised to remain calm and go about their lawful studies and endeavours peacefully as Management is in touch with the Police, who have assured the University and Akoko residents that they are on top of the situation.

Get Organised: Keep track of important events; master your lecture time-table effectively.
Go To Class: You are here for a reason – to further your education in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. Every student is, therefore, expected to make up to 70% attendance at lecture/practical periods, and failure to comply will not make a student eligible to sit for the examination.
Network: Always be in company of good friends who will add value to your life. Join registered clubs/societies, participate in sporting activities and get involved in other productive activities.
Stay Focused: There is so much fun in the University which might make it difficult for you to focus on your studies. Therefore, determine to remain focused in spite of distractions around you.
Eat And Sleep Regularly: Adjusting to University life can take a lot out of you because of class schedules, studying and having to figure how to handle them on your own. It is important to eat and rest at the right time.
Manage Stress: Life is stressful. Manage your stress by walking out, deep breathing and adopting other stress management methods.
Be Assertive: Make sure you are always communicating openly and honestly about your feelings while respecting other people as well in a socially-appropriate manner.
Avoid Examination Misconduct: This is one of the factors that disrupt the peaceful conduct of examination, hence, it is punishable by appropriate disciplinary action.
