They were still unchanged when we checked on 11 October 2026.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2027 edition:<\/strong> JAMB has not announced a new syllabus for the 2027 UTME. If it does, it will appear on IBASS first. Do not pay anyone for a &#8220;2027 JAMB syllabus&#8221;. The official one is free.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use of English text:<\/strong> the reading text for the 2026 UTME was <em>The Lekki Headmaster<\/em> by Kabir Alabi Garba. JAMB has not yet said whether it stays for 2027. See our <a href=\"https:\/\/schoolnews.com.ng\/jamb\/lekki-headmaster-summary\/\">Lekki Headmaster summary<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to get the JAMB syllabus on IBASS<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <a href=\"https:\/\/ibass.jamb.gov.ng\/\" rel=\"noopener\">ibass.jamb.gov.ng<\/a>. This is JAMB&#8217;s Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System. The old address, jamb.gov.ng\/ibass, now opens the same portal.<\/li>\n<li>Tap <strong>E-syllabus<\/strong> in the menu.<\/li>\n<li>Find your subject in the list. There are three pages of subjects, or you can type it into <strong>Search Subjects<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Tap <strong>View details<\/strong>. The syllabus opens as a PDF on the page.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat for each of your four UTME subjects, including Use of English.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the PDF window stays blank on your phone, try another browser or a laptop. It carries all 25 official PDFs as they appear on IBASS, plus a plain-text topic list for each subject that loads fast on mobile data.<\/p>\n<h3>Subjects with an official syllabus<\/h3>\n<p>IBASS has a syllabus for these 25 UTME subjects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agricultural Science, Arabic, Art, Biology, Chemistry<\/li>\n<li>Christian Religious Studies, Commerce, Computer Studies, Economics, French<\/li>\n<li>Geography, Government, Hausa, History, Home Economics<\/li>\n<li>Igbo, Islamic Studies, Literature in English, Mathematics, Music<\/li>\n<li>Physics, Physical and Health Education, Principles of Accounts, Use of English, Yoruba<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Not sure which four subjects to register? For each topic it gives:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Topics and contents:<\/strong> the main topics and their sub-topics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives:<\/strong> what you should be able to do for each topic, such as define, calculate, compare or explain.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recommended texts:<\/strong> textbooks JAMB suggests for the subject. IBASS also lists them under <strong>Materials<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>UTME questions come from these topics. If a topic is not in the syllabus, it is not part of the exam for that subject.<\/p>\n<h2>How to study with the syllabus<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Print or save it.<\/strong> Keep the syllabus for each of your four subjects where you can tick topics off.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plan by topic, not by textbook.<\/strong> Divide each syllabus into weekly blocks. Aim to finish every topic at least a month before the exam so you have time to revise.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Read the objectives.<\/strong> They tell you how deep to go. &#8220;Calculate&#8221; means you need to work problems, not just know the definition.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Practise past questions topic by topic.<\/strong> After each block, answer past questions on the same topics. Get free ones on our <a href=\"https:\/\/schoolnews.com.ng\/jamb\/past-questions\/\">JAMB past questions<\/a> page or at <a href=\"https:\/\/pastquestions.ng\/\" rel=\"noopener\">PastQuestions.ng<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Practise on a computer.<\/strong> The UTME is a computer-based test. Nobody needs to send you a &#8220;new 2027 syllabus&#8221; for a fee.<\/li>\n<li>Ignore WhatsApp messages that claim JAMB has &#8220;removed&#8221; or &#8220;added&#8221; topics.
