LASU sets 2024 admission cut-off mark

LASU with record high candidates; ranks 3rd

Lagos State University, LASU, has seen a tremendous surge in the number of candidates seeking for addmission into the institution. Some may attribute it to the fact that Lagos is the most populous city in Nigeria. But, the truth is; the school has not increase their tuition fees. It is no longer news that a lot of Nigerian Varsities has hike their fees. Last year saw many universities increasing fees. This resulted to new and old students paying three or four times more than before. So, to see a school with high educational standard and pocket friendly fees is not easy to come by.

The fee regime at LASU is about N69,000 for regular students and about N150,000 for those combining entrepreneurship with their studies. These are still below the average fee range in most other universities. Especially in the light of the current economic reality in Nigeria.

Entrance into LASU this year may be very competitive because it ranked as the third-most subscribed university in this year’s UTME.

LASU cut-off mark

Candidates seeking admission into the Lagos State University, LASU, must score at least 195 marks in the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, to stand any chance of being considered for admission.

This is because the university has established that as the cut-off mark for its admission process.

Note that last year cut-off mark was the same 195.

Goodnews for LASU staff Children

In another development; the university has started the admission process for biological children of staff of the university.

This is aimed at helping children of teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution to be given priority in the intake of new students.

Conclusion

There you have it, 2024 LASU cut-off marked pegged at 195. What is your take on this score; is it too high or too low or is it fair? Also, giving a special consideration to teaching and non-teaching staff children is not corruption? The school fees at just a thousand away from 70k, is too high or fair?
