Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship for US Citizens to Study Abroad

Scholarship Value
Awards range from US$100 to US$5,000. Additional funding of up to US$8,000 is available for students studying critical need languages. Funds can be used to cover eligible costs such as: Tuition Room and board Books, Local transportation, Insurance, International airfare, Passport and visa fees

Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be U.S. citizens.
- Be enrolled as undergraduate students in good standing at accredited U.S. institutions (2-year or 4-year).
- Be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or provide proof of eligibility during the term of their program.
- Be accepted into a credit-bearing study abroad or internship program.
- Study in countries with a Travel Advisory Level 1 or 2 issued by the U.S. Department of State.
Note: Programs in countries or locations with a Level 3 or 4 Travel Advisory or specific restricted areas within eligible countries are not allowed.
