Again, the scholarship will be awarded with restrictions to the course of study (<em>available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PTDF website<\/a><\/em>).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>PTDF In-Country Undergraduate and <\/strong><strong>Postgraduate (Master&#8217;s &amp; Ph.D.) <\/strong><strong>Scholarship Scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This scholarship scheme is for Nigerian Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in any of the PTDF-approved Nigerian Federal Universities. Applicants are to note that they will be required to verify their NIN before proceeding with the application (<em>NIMC verification charges apply<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Applicants who have benefitted from any of the PTDF scholarships in the past cannot apply for the same or lower category of degree.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants who are beneficiaries of any other scholarship need not apply.<\/li>\n<li>Application is restricted to Federal Universities and for <em><strong>specific courses<\/strong><\/em> only.<\/li>\n<li>All applicants must possess a valid admission letter from the University.<\/li>\n<li>Postgraduate applicant\u2019s admission letter should be within a validity period of <em><strong>12 months<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Postgraduate applicants who meet the requirements shall be shortlisted for interviews before the final selection of successful candidates.<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate applicants must have completed their first year and are currently in their second year of studies.<\/li>\n<li>Only undergraduate applicants undertaking studies in oil and gas-related fields (as advertised) will be considered. The final selection shall be based on grades on their transcripts (transcripts must be signed and stamped by the HOD\/Exams Officer or any authorized staff).<\/li>\n<li>Admission for part-time studies shall not be considered for all categories of applications. The scholarship is highly competitive and merit driven. Selection of candidates shall be based on equitable representation of the 36 States of the Federation and FCT.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>Criteria, Requirements and Selection Process for PTDF In-Country Scholarship Scheme (ISS)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The PTDF scholarship is highly competitive, and only the most qualified applicants will be selected. A selection panel will be constituted to assess applications using the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Academic merit as evidenced by the quality of degrees, full academic transcripts, other professional qualifications acquired, and relevant publications to be referenced by applicants.<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate and Postgraduate (MSc) applicants are required to make a case for their scholarship by submitting a statement of purpose stating the reason(s) they wish to undertake the study, the relevance of the proposed study to the industry and its expected impact on national development.<\/li>\n<li>Ph.D. applicants are required to submit a research proposal of not more than <em><strong>Six<\/strong><\/em> (6) pages, including topic, introduction, literature review, research question(s), novelty, methodology, mode of data collection(s), expected outcome(s), relevance to the industry, and appropriate references.<\/li>\n<li>Membership of professional bodies.<\/li>\n<li>The viability of the study\/research plan <em><strong>(Ph.D. applicants only)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><em><strong>PTDF In-Country Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>This scholarship scheme is for Nigerian Undergraduates who are currently in the 200-level at any of the PTDF-approved Nigerian Federal Universities. However, 300-level students may also try their luck, as there is nothing to lose.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Value\/Worth of Scholarship\/Inclusions:<\/strong><\/em> An annual allowance plus a laptop at first payment. Depending on your school, you are expected to go to the host department and collect your application pin. In most cases, the HOD of the host department will be the one to attend to you. <strong>OR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can purchase a scratch card from designated main branches of <em><strong>First Bank of Nigeria Plc<\/strong><\/em> in all 36 States and FCT upon payment of a <em><strong>NON-REFUNDABLE <\/strong><\/em>amount as stated by PTDF. Requirements for PTDF Overseas Scholarship Scheme (OSS)<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>PTDF scholarships are highly competitive, and only outstanding candidates across the board are selected.<\/p>\n<p>Now, based on the submitted qualifications, the top applicants for each category from each state will be invited for an interview where a selection committee will be constituted to assess applications using the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Academic merit as evidenced by the quality of degrees, full academic transcripts and other professional qualifications acquired.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant publications referenced by the applicant <em><strong>(Ph.D. applicants only)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>The viability of the study\/research plan.<\/li>\n<li>Membership in professional bodies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5><em><strong>Master&#8217;s or MSc Eligibility Requirements:<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>A minimum of <em><strong>Second Class Upper<\/strong><\/em> (2.1) qualification in their first degree or a <em><strong>Second Class Lower<\/strong><\/em> (2.2) with relevant industry experience.<\/li>\n<li>Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate.<\/li>\n<li>Possession of <em><strong>Five<\/strong><\/em> (5) O\/level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.<\/li>\n<li>Statement of purpose (maximum <em><strong>500<\/strong><\/em> words) stating the reason(s) for the proposed study, its relevance to the industry and its expected impact on national development.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5><em><strong>Ph.D. Eligibility Requirements:<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of <em><strong>Second Class Lower<\/strong><\/em> (2.2) in their first degree and a good second-degree certificate.<\/li>\n<li>All lecturers must produce a letter from their Vice Chancellors confirming that they are not in receipt of any other scholarships (<em>if shortlisted<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>A research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than <em><strong>Five<\/strong><\/em> (5) pages) to include the following:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Title<\/li>\n<li>Introduction<\/li>\n<li>Research Problem<\/li>\n<li>Aim<\/li>\n<li>Research Questions\/Objectives<\/li>\n<li>Scope<\/li>\n<li>Summarized Literature<\/li>\n<li>Methodology<\/li>\n<li>Expected outcomes only where necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Possession of master\u2019s degree project.<\/li>\n<li>Possess a valid admission letter.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><em><strong>Required Documents<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Applicants are advised to scan copies of the following documents and attach them to their online application forms:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First Degree Certificate or Statement of Result.<\/li>\n<li>NYSC Discharge Certificate.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>WAEC\/GCE\/SSCE\/NECO<\/strong><\/em> results and the PINs on the application forms enable PTDF to view the O\u2019level results on the relevant website.<\/li>\n<li>Recent Passport Photograph.<\/li>\n<li>Local Government Identification Letter.<\/li>\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree Certificate <em><strong>(Ph.D. Applicants only)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of membership in professional associations.<\/li>\n<li>Admission letter <em><strong>(Ph.D. Applicants only)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h6><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong> <em>Interested applicants should please note the following:<\/em><\/h6>\n<ol>\n<li>Applicants must have a National Identity Number (NIN), and verification will be required (<em>NIMC verification charges apply<\/em>) before applying for the scholarship.<\/li>\n<li>Applications are limited to PTDF partner universities &mdash; candidates may be disqualified for applying for programmes not relevant to the oil and gas industry.<\/li>\n<li>The proposed course of study must also be related to previous studies.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates with multiple applications will be disqualified.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who successfully scale through the first round of screening will be requested to submit their transcripts; all applicants are therefore advised to prepare their transcripts for submission in anticipation of such a request.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who have benefitted from any of the PTDF scholarships in the past cannot apply for the same category of degree except a higher degree.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates interested in <em><strong>German Institutions<\/strong><\/em> should choose <em><strong>Abuja<\/strong><\/em> as their preferred interview location.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who are beneficiaries of any other scholarship need not apply.<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing Ph.D. Applicants could only apply provided their Universities are among the list of PTDF partner universities.
