UMYU pre-degree & remedial form 2017/2018 is out – Umyu 2017 pre degree news

UMYU Pre degree screening form for 2017 is out, UMYU 2017 remedial screening has started too. Schedule for 2017/2018 UMYU post utme screening. Application fee is N2000. Application deadline is 8th october 2017.


Application for 2017/2018 Admission into the School of Pre-Degree and Remedial Studies Programmes, of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina
Sale of Application for admission forms into the School of Pre-Degree and Remedial Studies Programmes of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina will commence from 28th August, 2017 to 29th September, 2017.
Three programmes will be conducted during the 2017/2018 session. They are; UTME, IJMBE and English Immersion for candidates from French and non English speaking Countries.
1, APPLICATION AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR UTME (i.e. PRE-DEGREE) PROGRAMME
a. Candidates applying for Pre-Degree Programme must possess at least three (3) Credits in Science subjects and any two passes at ‘O’ level in the other subjects offered in the school at not more than two (2) sittings.

  1. Biology, Chemistry, Physics;
  2. Biology, Physics, Mathematics;
  3. Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics;
  4. Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics.

b. Candidates admitted for the pre-degree programme must register and pass at credit level the WAEC, NECO or NABTEB exams in the subjects they are deficient.
c. Candidates admitted for pre-degree programme must also register for the 2018/2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtain the minimum JAMB pass and must choose Umaru Musa Yar’adua university as their 1st choice.
d. The duration of the Programme is one year.

2. Application and admission requirements for ijmbe

a. Candidates applying for IJMBE Programme must possess at least five (5) ‘O’ level Credits (in 3 basic Science subjects plus English and Mathematics) at not more than two (2) sittings. For candidates from educationally less developed States (ELDS) in Nigeria, deficiency is allowed for English. The deficiency however, must be remedied before the end of the IJMBE programme.

  3. Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics;
  4. Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics.

b. All registered IJMB candidates must also register for 2018/2019 JAMB Direct Entry admissions
c. The duration of the Programme is one year.

3. Application and admission requirements for English immersion programme

This is an English Language programme for French speaking and other non-English speaking candidates preparatory to admission in to the University
a. Candidates applying for this programme must possess relevant certificate acceptable to the University.
b. The duration of the programme is 7 months of 2 semesters.

4. Method of application

Interested candidates are required to follow the procedures below:

ii. Pay the sum of two thousand naira (N2,000.00) only which covers the cost of the form, screening and pre-admission test expenses;
iii.Proceed to the designated bank, make payment and obtain payment slip.
