A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), and Data Mining Company Limited (DMC) to facilitate the implementation of student loans. The agreement will bring about the issuing of a new card code-named the National Government To People (G2P) Card.
The agreement was signed at the headquarters of NELFUND in Abuja by the Director General of NIMC, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Education Loan Fund, Akintunde Sawyer and the Managing Director of Data Mining Company, Femi Akande.
The NELFUND MD, Akintunde Sawyer described the event as a groundbreaking event to drive financial inclusion, promote transparency and accountability in the deployment of Government to People Service Card (G2PS-card).
NIMC DG/CEO Briefly Describe the Unique Feature of the G2P Card
Speaking at the event, the DG/CEO of NIMC Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, described the uniqueness of the card. She said, “The G2P card is a card that unifies Nigerians and bridges the gap between the Government and the Citizens.”
Speaking further Engr. Abisoye said “ NELFUND has been working tirelessly to ensure that every single application done has a verifiable certain identity. And DMC has been providing their support through the issuance of NIN to students.”
She concluded by saying that these steps ensure that there is transparency, and that students have direct access to higher education loan funds.
NELFUND Canverse for Collaboration and Teamwork
Recall the NELFUND posted on their official X handle (formerly Twitter) account a write up that encourages collaboration and teamwork. The post dated March 3rd reads:

The signed MOA between NELFUND and other agencies is an indication that NELFUND is practicing what they preached.
