The Rhodes Scholarship for Global
Rhodes Scholarships have only ever been given out in 20 constituencies, which represent over 60 distinct countries, until very recently. But now, Rhodes Scholarships are entirely global, permitting eligible applicants from around the world to apply, contingent upon nomination.
In other words, the Rhodes Global Scholarship is for candidates who are unable to apply via an existing Rhodes
constituency/country.
The Rhodes Global Scholarship seeks exceptional young leaders eager to tackle global issues and do their part to foster peace and mutual understanding among nations. Qualified candidates may study any full-time postgraduate program at the University of Oxford, subject to certain exclusions.

Scholarship Eligibility
- You may only apply to the Rhodes Global Scholarships if you are not eligible to apply via any existing Rhodes constituency. If you have a strong connection to one or more Rhodes constituencies but do not meet their eligibility criteria, you should also consider inter-jurisdictional consideration rather than the Global Scholarship.
- You must meet either of the below age criteria:
- You must be aged 18-23.
- You must be under the age of 27 and also have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2024 (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual).
- You must have completed an undergraduate degree (usually a Bachelor’s) by July 2026, and you must have an academic background and grade that – at a minimum – meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements of your chosen course at the University of Oxford.
- Candidates will have a higher chance of successful admission to Oxford if they have: A First Class Honours Degree or equivalent OR A GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher.
- You must meet the University of Oxford’s English language requirements. This means that unless you qualify for a test waiver, you must provide English test results with scores that meet the University’s higher-level requirement. Note: A university’s policy determines the date of completion of academic requirements for a degree and this may be different from when a degree is considered awarded by the university or the date of a graduation ceremony. In ambiguous cases, the decision of the National Secretary is final.

The scholarship covers Oxford University course fees and provides an annual stipend from which Scholars pay all living expenses, including accommodation. It also covers settling-in allowance, health insurance, visa, and two economy-class flights—to and from the UK—for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford.
The basic tenure of the scholarship is two (2) years, subject always, and at all times, to satisfactory academic performance and personal conduct.
To apply for the Rhodes Global Scholarship, you must complete and submit the online application form. Also, there is no application fee for submission of the Rhodes Global Scholarship application form.
Please note that you should apply to the Rhodes Scholarship first before applying for your proposed course at the University of Oxford. Selected candidates for the Rhodes Scholarship must thereafter apply for their preferred degree via the University of Oxford’s graduate application form, with assistance from the Rhodes House team.
