VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Master’s Scholarships
VLIR-UOS offers ICP Connect Master’s Scholarships to students from 30 eligible countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, enabling them to attend English-taught Master’s programmes at participating Flemish universities or universities of applied sciences and arts in Belgium, with fields of study including various professional and initial Master’s programs such as International Master of Science in Agro- and Environmental Nematology, Master of Aquaculture, Master of Epidemiology, Master of Statistics and Data Science, Master in Sustainable Development, and many others.

Scholarship Value
he scholarship covers: Tuition fees Travel costs Insurance Living expenses (board and lodging) The scholarship duration aligns with the Master’s programme (12, 24, or 36 months)
Scholarship Eligibility
- Nationality and Residence: Must be a national and resident of one of the eligible countries.
- Age:
- Bachelor/initial Master programme: Maximum age is 35 years (as of 1 January of the intake year).
- Advanced Master programme: Maximum age is 45 years.
- Bachelor candidates must be at least 19 years old by 1 January of the intake year.
- Professional Background: Preference for candidates in higher education, government, or civil society. Candidates in the private sector or without work experience may also be considered if they present a strong motivation.
- Scholarship Applications: Can only apply for one ICP Connect scholarship per year.
- Previous Scholarships: Must not have previously received a Belgian government scholarship or enrolled in a Belgian higher education institution before 1 January of the intake year.

Application Instructions
To apply, candidates must:
- Apply for admission to the programme on the university’s website.
- Indicate their intent to apply for the scholarship during the programme application process.
Deadlines vary by programme but are generally 1 February or 28 February 2025. For the Master of Science in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems, the deadline is 30 November 2024.
