The institution is the only accredited and licensed University by National Universities Commission (NUC) to offer single-mode open and distance education to learners in Nigeria.

Requirements for Admission into NOUN (Undergraduate Programmes)

Below are the requirements for admission into NOUN and summarised step-by-step guide on how to apply:

  1. To qualify for undergraduate admission, applicants are expected to have a minimum of 5 O-level credits including English Language and Mathematics.
  2. First select the Faculty, then the programme and entry-level in order to enable the View Requirement button. Clicking this button will reveal the corresponding entry requirement and enable the Apply button on the prepayment application page.
  3. Carefully fill in all the required information on the page before submitting.
  4. On successful submission of the pre-payment form, you will be redirected to Remita to obtain an RRR invoice which will be used to effect payment for the application form.
  5. For those that use card payment online, they will automatically obtain the online form which must be filled before submission.
  6. Applicants who pay through the bank, must click on “Continue After Payment” and enter their Unique ID and RRR. They also have the opportunity to change the Programme applied for.
  7. Applicants who had paid using an RRR generated last semester (returning students) or earlier must restart the application process to the point when they are redirected to remitta. They should now use the newly generated Unique ID with the old RRR used for payment when they click Proceed after payment.
  8. As soon as the payment is successfully made, and the online application form generated is filled and submitted. The admission process is automated, and the outcome is virtually instantaneous.

Current NOUN school fees in 2025 

Offering quality education at lowest cost is one of the objectives of NOUN. School fees at NOUN are pocket-friendly and differs depending on the student’s level of education and whether they are new students or continuing students

We are going to consider only the compulsory NOUN school fees. The complete tuition fee varies from one course to another. To get the complete  tuition fee, add the compulsory fee amount to the amount on the tuition invoice received from the university.

How to apply for NOUN admission

  • Go to the menu bar on the home page and click on Apply for Admission.
  • Select either Undergraduate Programme or Postgraduate Programme.
  • Locate Choose Faculty at the left hand side of the screen.
  • Choose your faculty and fill in the displayed form. Ensure you confirm that you meet the entry criteria.
  • Then click Apply to proceed.
  • Your Unique ID will be displayed, copy it.
  • Click Continue and follow the onscreen display to make application fee payment. You can make the payment online using card or through the banking hall.
  • For payment through bank; copy and take your RRR number to any bank branch for payment.
  • After successful transaction, go to Continue After Payment.
  • Key in the Unique ID, RRR number, and programme and click Proceed.
  • Without making any mistakes, carefully fill the forms, and click Submit.
