Nigerian Maritime University Okerenkoko (NMU) is a Federal university located in Okerenkoko, Delta, established in 2017. It offers the 18 programmes listed below. The JAMB national minimum for the 2026/2027 session is 150 — the college's own entrance exam and departmental cut-offs may be higher, so confirm with the school.

⚠ Nigerian Maritime University Okerenkoko is a real federal university, but its name is often abused by scammers. Admission is ONLY through JAMB UTME/Direct Entry plus the official Post-UTME screening on eportal.nmu.edu.ng; the university does not sell admission and no agent can "guarantee" a slot or a paramilitary/cadet placement for a fee. Ignore WhatsApp/Facebook "admission officers" and look-alike domains — the official site is nmu.edu.ng, not any .com/.org copycat. Never pay a "school fee" or "screening fee" quoted by a third party — confirm every amount and payment channel on nmu.edu.ng first.

Entry Requirements

You need five (5) O'level credit passes (WAEC/NECO, not more than two sittings) including English Language and Mathematics, plus other subjects relevant to your chosen programme. Sit JAMB UTME (minimum 150) and make Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko your first choice, then complete the university's Post-UTME screening. NMU is a paramilitary/maritime university — expect regimental requirements (uniforms, on-campus residency, drills) and, for some programmes, medical fitness. Confirm the exact UTME subject combination and any programme-specific minimum on the official JAMB brochure and nmu.edu.ng. Direct Entry (A-level/ND/HND/JUPEB/Pre-Degree) routes also exist for eligible candidates.

NMU JAMB Cut-off Mark (2026/2027)

The JAMB national minimum for the 2026/2027 session is 150. This is the lowest score to be considered; the college also runs its own entrance examination, and departments frequently set higher cut-offs, so always confirm the current mark for your course with the school.

How to Apply

1) Register for JAMB UTME and choose Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko as your first-choice institution (or apply via JAMB Direct Entry if qualified). 2) After UTME, complete the NMU Post-UTME screening form on the official student portal: eportal.nmu.edu.ng/ug/candidate. JUPEB applicants use eportal.nmu.edu.ng/applicant/JUPEB and Pre-Degree applicants use eportal.nmu.edu.ng/applicant/Predegree. 3) Attend the screening and check your admission status on JAMB CAPS and the NMU portal.

Stay safe: apply ONLY through JAMB and the official NMU portals linked above — never pay an agent / pay only through the official portal.
