Mobile Tutor Private Limited, producer of the easy to understand Application oriented animated contents for engineering students, M-Tutor, has opened discussions with the Management of Covenant University on the feasibility of a partnership with the University.

The Vice-President, Mobile Tutor Private Limited, Mr. Senthil Kumar, had on Thursday, September 28, 2017, during a presentation on the application to the Covenant Management, described M-Tutor as a digital learning model delivering engineering course content of all Universities. Also, he said the application is a conceptual learning tool that takes learning beyond the classrooms and is designed to make students see their lessons play out as a video for them.
Mr. Kumar said that his organization was desirous of having a collaboration with Covenant University, because of her soaring profile and reputation as the best private university in Nigeria and her ambition to become one of the top 10 universities in the world. He added that M-Tutor will stay committed to offer Covenant the cutting edge in digital learning.
Highlighting the benefits of M-Tutor to the students, he stated that it offers the students an interactive and effective learning platform; course content aligned to the University’s curriculum; assessments and tests, that facilitates self-evaluation of the students’ knowledge; rich graphic-aided content to increase students’ retention power; and conception learning methods to make students’ syllabus relatable for life.
On the benefits of M-Tutor to the University, Mr. Kumar said that it is an agile tool for dynamic and comprehensive teaching; an analysis tool to monitor students’ performance; promotes activity-based and interactive learning methodologies; and ensures a cohesive bond between students and faculties among others.
Following his presentation, issues bordering on adaptability, durability and content were raised by some Heads of Departments in the College of Engineering, while the Director, Financial Services, Pastor Sunday Abayomi, sought to know about the cost implication. Mr. Kumar, in his response, said that M-Tutor is continuously updated by well experienced academicians, has value added features and cost would be negotiated with the University.
In his remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Covenant University, Professor Shalom Chinedu, representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor AAA. Atayero, said that as a University currently planning to institute Open and Distant Learning, M-Tutor would be useful in that direction.
He, however, observed that quite a number of issues have to be streamlined, one of which is how the application would be adapted and implemented. According to him, representatives of Covenant University and Mobile Tutor Limited would have to meet for further discussions to see how they can package the product to suit the Covenant environment, adding that the University looks forward to a great partnership with Mobile Tutor Private Limited.
Other representatives of Covenant University at the event included the Registrar, Dr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo; Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Samuel Wara; Dean, College of Leadership Development Studies, Professor Amos Alao; Dean, College of Business and Social Sciences, Professor Philip Alege; and Dean, College of Science and Technology, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku.

Others were Director, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Dr. David Omole; Director Quality and Academic Standard, Dr. David Olukanni; Director, Centre for Systems and Information Services, Dr. Emmanuel Adetiba; the Heads, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Electronics Information Engineering Departments; and President, African Engineering Deans Council, Professor Adagbonyin Obiazi.
