About
The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship offers funding for up to 24 months for Master’s or Doctoral degree studies. It enables students from Asia, the Pacific, and the U.S. to participate in the educational, residential, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center (EWC) while pursuing their graduate studies at the University of Hawai‘i (UH).
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Hold a 4-year bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited U.S. or recognized foreign institution.
- Achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in their last four semesters or six quarters of undergraduate studies and all post-baccalaureate work.
- Meet UH Mānoa’s admission requirements.

Application Instructions
- Applicants not already enrolled as classified graduate students at UH Mānoa must apply to the university by December 1, 2024 for fall 2025 admission.
- UH Mānoa’s online application system opens on August 1, 2024, for the following academic year.
- To ensure timely processing, supporting documents for both the East-West Center and UH admissions must be submitted by January 10, 2025, regardless of department-specific deadlines.
