About

Quick answer: Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) funds up to three years of any full-time Stanford graduate degree — PhD, MBA, MD, JD, MS, MA and more — covering tuition, a living stipend, an annual flight home and a relocation allowance. It is open to citizens of every country including Nigeria, with no quota, no age limit and no nomination needed.

For the 2027 cohort, the KHS application closes 6 October 2026, 1:00 pm Pacific Time. You must also apply separately to your Stanford graduate programme — by that programme’s own KHS-aligned deadline or 1 December 2026, whichever comes first (MBA applicants must use Round 1). For PhD students, KHS fully funds years 1–3; after that your department’s standard PhD funding takes over.

Additional Information

How to apply: submit the KHS application (essays, résumé, recommendations, video statement) at knight-hennessy.stanford.edu before 6 October 2026, and your Stanford degree application by its deadline. Both applications are evaluated independently; there is no application fee for KHS itself (Stanford programme fees may apply, with waivers available). See also our fully funded scholarships list.
