Baba-Ahmed University (BAUK) has announced the introduction of two new undergraduate programmes as part of efforts to expand its academic offerings and meet the growing demand for professionals in the legal and security sectors.
The university said the new programmes; Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Criminology and Security Studies will commence in September 2026.
University Expands Academic Offerings
According to the university, the introduction of the programmes marks a significant step in the development of its academic portfolio.
The new programmes are expected to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to contemporary challenges in law, justice, security, governance and public safety.
The LL.B. programme will provide students with foundational legal education and prepare them for further professional development in the legal field.
The B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies programme, meanwhile, will focus on areas including crime prevention, criminal justice, security management, intelligence and public safety.

The Vice-Chancellor of Baba-Ahmed University, Prof. Adamu Idris Tanko, FRGS, FANG, confirmed that further information on the programmes will be released by the university.

The new programmes are expected to admit their first students in the 2026/2027 academic session, with academic activities scheduled to commence in September 2026.
