The management of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki, has released the 2026/2027 undergraduate admission list, giving candidates who participated in the institution’s admission screening exercise the opportunity to confirm whether they have secured provisional admission.
The admission list contains the names of candidates offered admission into various undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates can now verify their admission status through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). Candidates who have not yet been admitted are advised to remain patient, as the admission exercise is still ongoing and more names are expected to be uploaded in batches.
How to Confirm Your Admission Status
To check their admission status, candidates should visit the JAMB e-Facility Portal and log in using the email address and password used during UTME registration. After signing in, they should click “Check Admission Status,” select “Access My CAPS,” and then open the “Admission Status” tab to see whether they have been offered admission.
Candidates whose names appear on the admission list may also confirm their admission through the EBSU admission portal, where the university provides admission-related services and updates for newly admitted students.
Accept Admission Before Proceeding With Registration
Candidates who have been offered admission are expected to either accept or reject the offer on JAMB CAPS as soon as possible.
Accepting the admission offer is a compulsory requirement for all successful candidates. Without completing this step, they will not be able to proceed with subsequent admission processes, including printing their JAMB Admission Letter and completing registration with the university.
After accepting the offer, candidates should print their JAMB Admission Letter and, where necessary, their Original JAMB Result Slip. They are also advised to monitor official announcements from Ebonyi State University for updates on acceptance fee payment, clearance, screening, course registration and other enrolment procedures.
Candidates Yet to Be Admitted Advised to Remain Patient
Candidates whose admission status still shows “Admission Still in Progress” or “Not Admitted” have been urged not to lose hope.
The university’s admission exercise is still in progress, meaning additional admission lists may be released in the coming weeks. Prospective students should therefore continue checking their JAMB CAPS and the university’s admission portal regularly for updates.
Candidates are also advised to ensure that their O’Level results have been uploaded to the JAMB portal. Failure to upload the required results may delay or prevent admission processing, as institutions can only complete admission for candidates whose credentials have been properly verified.
Admission Exercise Still Ongoing
The release of the admission list marks another stage in Ebonyi State University’s 2026/2027 admission exercise rather than its conclusion. The institution is expected to continue uploading the names of successful candidates in batches until the process is completed.
