About
Quick answer: The Jim Ovia Foundation Leaders Scholarship (JOFLS) funds Nigerian students who have just gained admission into a federal or state university, in any course. The foundation’s site currently says the 2025 application has closed (it ran to late November 2025) and has not yet announced the 2026 call. Applications open on jimoviafoundation.org only.
The foundation states that application is free, must be made in your own name, once only, and that agents are not permitted. Falsified documents mean automatic disqualification.
Eligibility
- At least 16 years old at the time of application.
- Have gained admission into a Nigerian federal or state university.
- Completed senior secondary school with at least five O-level credits.
- No restriction on course or programme of study.
Additional Information
How to apply: when the call opens, use the “new applicants” form on the foundation website, upload the documents listed on its “documents required” page (admission letter, O-level result, ID, passport photo) and submit once. Returning beneficiaries renew through a separate form. Enquiries: enquiry@jimoviafoundation.org. Checked 6 September 2026.
