About

Quick answer: Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships pay for a full one-year Master’s at a UK university — tuition, a £1,712 monthly stipend (£2,000 in London), return flights and study grants. Nigeria is one of the 43 eligible countries. For 2027/28 the CSC window opens 8 September 2026 and closes at 16:00 UK time on 20 October 2026.

You cannot apply to the CSC directly. You must be put forward by a nominator — in Nigeria that is normally the Federal Scholarship Board (Federal Ministry of Education) or one of the CSC’s approved NGO nominators — and separately submit the CSC online application before the deadline. Every step is free.

Eligibility

Additional Information

How to apply: (1) check the CSC page for Nigeria’s listed nominating agencies and follow their screening (the FSB advert, when published, appears on education.gov.ng — not on the old fsbn.com.ng domain, which is no longer the Board’s site); (2) complete the CSC online application, listing up to three UK courses, before 20 October 2026. Doing a PhD instead? See our Commonwealth PhD guide. Also compare Chevening (closes 6 October). Checked 6 September 2026.
