About
Annually, over 2 million dollars in university graduate fellowships are awarded to full-time master’s and PhD students to recognize and support academic excellence. The fellowships are provided to students who have shown evidence of high educational achievement and prospects.
Eligibility
(1) are registered or intend to register in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba in a research-based Master’s or Ph.D. program as full-time students (not including pre-Master’s or Occasional students; Master’s of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Finance (MFin), and Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) these students do not qualify for the UMGF as these programs lack a research/thesis component;
(2) at least an admission grade point average of 3.00 based on their admission to their current graduate program; some departments demand a higher GPA to be eligible;
(3) showcase good promise as researchers and as graduate students;
(4) are admitted to, or registered in, a program that is eligible for tri-council graduate student awards.
