In a display of athleticism and determination, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) team clinched an impressive two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the 5th edition of the Federal Education Sector Games (FEDUGAM 2025), hosted in Lafia, Nasarawa State from August 4–10.
Although this medal breakdown was announced by JAMB, aggregated results from the tournament—where JAMB ranked sixth among participating agencies—confirm the Board’s solid showing.
FEDUGAM 2025: A Showcase of Agency Athleticism
Federally organized and showcasing a spirit of unity, FEDUGAM 2025 brought together 22 federal education-sector agencies for a week-long sports fiesta hosted by the Nasarawa State Government.
The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) dominated the medal standings, scoring 19 gold, 18 silver, and 8 bronze, earning them the title of overall champions. The National Examinations Council (NECO) followed closely as first runner-up, with 13 gold, 17 silver, and 17 bronze medals, while UBEC (Universal Basic Education Commission) took third position with a smaller haul of medals.

At the closing ceremony, Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, represented by Prof. Ibrahim Ogiri-Hassan (Federal University of Lafia), described FEDUGAM as a platform that “promotes unity, synergy, and friendship” among participating agencies.
He expressed appreciation for the Nasarawa State Government’s hospitality, and commended the Federal University of Lafia for providing world-class facilities, which were key to the smooth conduct of events.
In a similar tone, Chairman of FEDUGAM, Dr. Saeed Yusuf, voiced gratitude for the minister’s commitment to sports within the education sector and the enabling environment provided for participants.
