FUDMA Livestock and Animal Science: Programmes, Requirements and How to Apply

Yes, Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) still offers B.Sc. Livestock Extension. UTME subject combination

For the Agriculture degree, use these four UTME subjects:

O’level requirements

You need five (5) SSCE credit passes (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB), which should include:

• English Language
• Biology or Agricultural Science
• Chemistry
• Any one of: Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Economics

Direct Entry

You may enter directly into 200 level with:

• Two A’Level passes in Chemistry and one of Biology, Botany, Zoology or Agricultural Science; or
• A relevant ND/HND (usually at least Lower Credit) or NCE, in addition to the O’level credits above.

You still register with JAMB as a Direct Entry candidate.

Cut-off mark

The JAMB national minimum for universities is 150. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission – FUDMA uses a departmental cut-off after Post-UTME screening, and departmental cut-offs are usually higher and are not always published. Confirm the current cut-off on the official FUDMA portal.

Who it is for

It is designed for serving, mid-career agricultural extension workers who want to upgrade their qualification while staying on the job. You are typically eligible if you hold one of the following, plus relevant work experience:

• Higher National Diploma (HND) in an agriculture-related field, usually with several years of extension work experience;
• National Diploma (ND/OND); or
• National Certificate of Education (NCE).

Candidates are usually nominated or sponsored by their employer. Because this is a professional upgrade programme, its structure and duration differ from the regular degree – confirm the current entry requirements and duration with the department before applying.
