FUD Disowns Fake 2025/2026 Admission Website, Warns Public Against Scammers

University reiterates that admission process has not commenced and urges applicants to rely only on verified platforms

The Federal University Dutse (FUD), Jigawa State, has cautioned the general public to disregard a fraudulent webpage falsely claiming to facilitate admission for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This warning was issued in a statement released on Tuesday in Dutse by the institution’s Acting Director of Public Affairs, Alhaji Abdullahi Yahaya-Bello.

According to Yahaya-Bello, the university’s management became aware of a cloned website and private mail address being used by fraudsters to exploit unsuspecting admission seekers. He stressed that the university has not yet begun its admission process.

We only released our cut-off mark last week and have not yet announced a date for the Post-UTME screening,” Yahaya-Bello clarified. “All official information regarding admissions will be communicated through our verified website and social media handles. We urge all prospective applicants to depend solely on these platforms.

Applicants and their families are advised to disregard the fake phone numbers and other contact details circulating on the fraudulent website. Emphasizing that FUD’s admission process is strictly based on merit. He equally stated that they adheres to the guidelines set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

We do not collect money for admission. Any request for payment in exchange for admission is a scam. Applicants should be extremely cautious,” he warned.

The university appealed to parents, guardians, and admission seekers to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to these deceptive schemes.
