NDU Course Registration: How to Register Your Courses on the Portal

Register your courses at Niger Delta University (NDU), Amassoma, on the official student portal at portal.ndu.edu.ng. In short: (1) pay your school fees and get your payment receipt, (2) log in with your matric number and add your courses for the semester, and (3) print your course form and have it signed by your department.

Do the registration yourself. Never hand your matric number and password to a “cyber café agent” who offers to register you — that is how students get missing courses, wrong selections and stolen logins.

The official NDU portals

NDU uses two separate official systems. Always start from these addresses:

• Course registration & student records: portal.ndu.edu.ng (the Student Management System, on the university’s own .edu.ng domain).
• School fees payment: ndufees.com (NDU’s official e-payment portal — see our NDU fees payment guide).
• University website: ndu.edu.ng

Type these addresses yourself rather than clicking links from WhatsApp, Facebook or a random blog — fraudsters set up look-alike pages during registration season. If any page asks you to pay a “processing fee” into a personal account, or requests your portal password, close it and go back to the official addresses above.

Before you register: what you need

• Your matriculation number and portal password. Fresh students who have not logged in before use their JAMB registration number and the password created during admission/clearance.
• School fees paid and your payment receipt printed. Course registration usually will not open until your fee payment is confirmed on the portal.
• The approved course list for your level and semester from your department (core courses, electives and GST/general courses).

How to register your courses at NDU: step by step

1. Pay your school fees first. Registration is tied to fee payment, so clear your fees and keep your receipt. See the NDU fees payment guide for the exact steps.
2. Go to the official portal: portal.ndu.edu.ng. Type the address yourself instead of clicking a link from a random blog or WhatsApp message.
3. Log in. Enter your matric number and password. If it is your first time, use your JAMB registration number and the password you set during admission, then update your details when prompted.
4. Open the “Course Registration” section on your dashboard.
5. Add your courses. Select the core, elective and general (GST) courses on your department’s approved list for the semester. Register only the courses meant for your level — carry-over courses first where applicable.
6. Check your total credit units before you submit (see the note below), then save/submit your registration.
7. Print your course form. Print at least two copies of the completed form from the portal.
8. Get it signed. Take the printout to your course adviser / Head of Department for signing and submit copies as your department directs. This step makes your registration valid — do not skip it.

Credit-unit limit

Nigerian universities set a minimum and maximum number of credit units you may carry per semester. NDU does not publish a single fixed figure that applies to every faculty online, so confirm your exact minimum and maximum credit units with your department or faculty office before you submit. Registering too few or too many units can invalidate your form.

Registration deadline and late registration

NDU sets course-registration and late-registration dates in its academic calendar each semester, and the dates change from session to session. We do not list a fixed date here because an outdated deadline could mislead you. Check the current registration window with your department or the official portal, and register early — late registration often attracts a penalty fee.

Common problems

• Portal won’t open your registration: your fee payment may not be confirmed yet. Confirm your payment status on the portal first.
• Forgot your password / first login issues: use the JAMB registration number route for fresh students, or contact the NDU ICT/portal support team through the official channel: support@ndu.edu.ng.
• A course is missing from your list: report it to your department — do not pay any “agent” to add it for you.

One safety rule

Your matric number and portal password are personal. NDU staff and the portal will never ask for your password by email, WhatsApp or phone call. Register your own courses, print your own form, and keep your login private.
