NOUN Past Questions: POP and e-Exam Papers by Course Code

NOUN sets two kinds of exam: e-exams (computer-based objectives) for 100 and 200 level and POP, pen-on-paper, for 300 level and above. Both are drawn from the free course material on nou.edu.ng/e-courseware, so the self-assessment exercises in every study unit are the closest thing to official past questions. Past papers circulate by course code among students.

How NOUN exams are set

• E-exam: multiple-choice and fill-in-the-gap questions answered on a computer at your study centre, marked automatically. The questions come from the same study units as the TMAs, and no remark is possible.
• POP (pen on paper): written papers with essay and short-answer questions, marked by lecturers. A remark is possible through your study centre for ₦20,000 per course.
• Weighting: whichever format, the exam is 70 percent of the course grade and the three TMAs are 30 percent. Pass mark 40 (50 for Nursing and postgraduate). The TMA guide and the CGPA calculator show how the marks combine.

The GST courses: where to start

Every undergraduate takes these eleven general-studies courses, so they have the deepest pool of past questions. Codes and titles are from NOUN’s Directorate of General Studies.

Postgraduate students take one study-guide course instead: GST707, GST807 or GST907 depending on level.

Where to get NOUN past questions

1. The course material itself. Download the PDF for each course at nou.edu.ng/e-courseware. Each unit ends with self-assessment exercises and tutor-marked questions; e-exam questions are written from these units. This is the only source NOUN itself provides, and it is free. 2. Your TMAs. The three TMAs per course are objective questions in the same style as the e-exam. Keep screenshots of your TMA questions and your marked answers.
3. Study-centre library and facilitators. Facilitation runs 13 July to 6 September for 2026_2 (per the approved calendar); facilitators see the exam pattern every semester. Ask them which units carry the weight.
4. Course groups. Students share scanned POP papers and e-exam question banks by course code in class WhatsApp groups and forums. Treat unofficial “answers” with care: papers are real, marked answers often are not.

Nobody sells official NOUN past questions. Anyone claiming to sell the actual upcoming e-exam questions is running a scam or offering malpractice; both end badly.

How to use past questions well

1. Map the paper to the units. Take one past paper and write the study unit next to each question. You will see three or four units carry most of the marks.
2. Read those units and redo the self-assessment questions closed-book. The e-exam rewords the unit questions rather than repeating them.
3. Time yourself. E-exams give roughly a minute a question. Practise at that speed with the objective questions from your TMAs and past papers.
4. For POP, practise writing. Answer two essay questions per unit in full sentences with the unit’s terms; markers look for the material’s own definitions.

Where can I download NOUN past questions?

NOUN does not publish past papers. Download the free course material at nou.edu.ng/e-courseware and use the end-of-unit self-assessment questions; students share scanned papers by course code in class groups.

Are NOUN e-exam questions from the course material?

Yes. E-exam and TMA questions are written from the study units in the official course material, which is why reading the units is the best preparation.

What is the difference between NOUN POP and e-exam?

POP is a written paper for 300 level and above, marked by lecturers and open to a ₦20,000 remark. The e-exam is computer-based for 100 and 200 level, marked automatically, with no remark option.

Which courses have GST past questions?

GST101 to GST105 and GST107 at 100 level, GST201 to GST204 at 200 level and GST302 at 300 level, eleven courses in all.

Can I buy NOUN exam questions?

No. Anyone selling the actual questions is either lying or offering malpractice, which NOUN punishes. Past papers shared by students are fine to study from.
