How to pay
Every naira goes through the portal e-wallet by Remita RRR, and registration then deducts from the wallet; the step-by-step, plus what to do when a payment does not reflect, is in the NOUN student portal guide. Registration for 2026_2 closes on 5 October 2026; after the regular window the portal adds a late-registration fee, and the amount is shown on the portal notice. What NOUN does not charge
- No acceptance fee. Admission is confirmed by paying your first-semester fees.
- No agent or “processing” fee. Anyone asking for one is not NOUN.
- No fee for course materials. Every course PDF is free on nou.edu.ng/e-courseware.
- The application form costs ₦5,000 for undergraduates and ₦7,500 for PGD and Masters (₦10,000 for PhD) as commonly quoted; the portal shows the exact amount at the pre-payment step. See the NOUN admission guide.
Where these figures come from
The amounts above are the Council-approved Upward Review of Schedule of Fees signed by the Registrar, effective from the 2023 session and still the schedule NOUN links from its admission procedure page. The official FAQ confirms the ₦1,500 exam fee, the ₦6,500 practical levy and the ₦20,000 remarking fee. NOUN can revise fees at any time, so treat the portal figure at registration as final.
