Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has opened applications for postgraduate admission for the 2026/2027 academic session, with prospective candidates required to complete the admission process by November 2, 2026.
The university’s Postgraduate College commenced online sales of application forms on September 28, 2026. The form costs ₦10,000, excluding applicable bank charges.
According to the admission notice, candidates applying for Academic Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes must upload a research proposal of not more than 300 words outlining their intended research.
Prospective applicants are also required to provide valid telephone numbers and email addresses during the application process.
ABU Postgraduate Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess at least five credit passes in their Ordinary Level (O’Level) examinations, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
Candidates should confirm that they meet the general entry requirements and any additional conditions applicable to their preferred programmes before submitting their applications.
The Postgraduate College also requires applicants to provide valid contact details to facilitate communication throughout the admission process.
Academic Master’s and PhD applicants must prepare their research proposals in advance to ensure they are ready for upload during the online application.

Interested candidates can access the application form through the university’s official “ABU eForms portal” (https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms).
Applicants should create an account if required, select the appropriate postgraduate application form, provide the requested personal and academic information, and complete the payment process.
Candidates applying for Academic Master’s and PhD programmes must also upload their research proposals in accordance with the 300-word limit.
Applicants are advised to review their entries carefully before submitting their forms and to check the application portal for any additional documents or programme-specific requirements.
The application fee is ₦10,000, excluding bank charges. Candidates should make the necessary payment through the designated online application process.

The deadline for the 2026/2027 postgraduate admission exercise is November 2, 2026. Prospective candidates are advised to complete their applications and required uploads before the closing date.
