LASU Extends 2026/2027 Direct Entry Screening Deadline to October 11

Lagos State University (LASU) has extended its 2026/2027 admission screening deadline for Direct Entry (DE) candidates, including eligible students of its School of Basic and Advanced Studies enrolled in the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme.

The extension gives applicants who have yet to complete the online screening additional time to finalise the process. The university has fixed 12:00 midnight on Sunday, October 11, 2026, as the new deadline.

According to the announcement, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo, approved the extension to accommodate eligible candidates who have outstanding screening procedures.

LASU Sets New Direct Entry Screening Deadline

The extension applies to eligible Direct Entry applicants and LASU JUPEB students seeking admission for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Direct Entry admission provides an alternative route into university degree programmes for candidates with recognised qualifications beyond the ordinary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) route. JUPEB, meanwhile, is an advanced-level programme that prepares eligible students for university admission through Direct Entry, subject to the relevant admission requirements.

Candidates covered by the extension are advised to complete their screening and submit the required information before the deadline. They should also ensure that their personal details and supporting credentials are accurate to avoid complications during the admission process.

University Warns Against Expecting Another Extension

LASU has urged affected candidates to take advantage of the additional time, indicating that no further extension is expected.

Applicants are therefore advised not to wait until the final hours to complete their screening. Leaving the process until the last minute could make it difficult to resolve technical problems or correct errors before the portal closes.

Candidates should also monitor the university’s official communication channels for any further instructions concerning the screening exercise.

How to Complete the LASU Admission Screening

Eligible candidates who have not completed their applications should visit the university’s official admission screening portal and follow the instructions for their respective categories.

The portal is available at the “LASU Admission Screening Portal” (https://services.lidc.lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening/).

Applicants should select the appropriate screening category, provide the required information and verify that their credentials have been correctly submitted. JUPEB candidates should follow the instructions specifically applicable to their programme.

Completing the screening process does not guarantee admission, as candidates must still satisfy the university’s applicable admission requirements.

The extension provides eligible applicants with an additional opportunity to complete the necessary procedures and remain under consideration for admission into LASU for the 2026/2027 academic session.
