In a remarkable turn of events, a former undergraduate of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, who disappeared four years ago, has been found alive in Kaduna, residing with an Islamic scholar.
Mysterious Disappearance in 2021
Shafiu, a former resident of the Janbulo area of Kano, reportedly went missing in 2021, an incident that left his parents, relatives, and friends devastated. Despite several search efforts, no trace of him was found for years.
After exhausting all possible leads, his family eventually gave up hope, believing he was dead. The disappearance remained a mystery that haunted the family for years.
Discovered in Kaduna Village
Recently, the family renewed their search and received shocking news — Shafiu was alive and living in a remote village in Kaduna State under the care of an Islamic scholar.
According to one of his relatives, “He was found in a village in Kaduna with a cleric who claimed he found him a long time ago.”
The relative further explained that, “The cleric explained that when he first met Shafiu, he seemed to be mentally unstable.”
