In a press release signed by the University Registrar, Mal. Umar Bayu, the institution confirmed that the screening exercise began on Friday, 19 September 2025. They urged prospective students to complete their registration promptly through the University’s portal.
Who is eligible
Only candidates who scored 150 points and above with the relevant Five O’Level credits, and Direct Entry (DE) candidates can apply.
How to register — Step-by-step guide (follow exactly)
To register for the Post UTME Screening, candidates are required to log onto:
https://futd.edu.ng to initiate the process using their UTME registration number as their Username and State of origin as their Password.
1. Confirm eligibility: Check that you scored 150 and above in the UTME (or applied via Direct Entry) and that you have the Five O’Level credits in the required subjects. If you don’t meet these, do not pay for or register for this screening.
2. Open the FUTD portal: Visit https://futd.edu.ng from a laptop or mobile browser. (Use a modern browser like Chrome, Firefox, Edge and a reliable internet connection.)
3. Log in: Use your UTME registration number as the username and your State of origin as the password, exactly as instructed on the portal. If you previously changed the password and can’t log in, use the portal’s support/contact option.
4. Generate RRR: On the portal generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Number for the screening fee.
5. Pay the screening fee: Applicants are required to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Number and proceed to any Bank for payment, or use their Debit Cards to pay the non-refundable screening fee of two thousand Naira (N2,000.00). Pay N2,000.00 via any bank branch using the RRR, or pay online with your debit card. Keep the payment receipt.
6. Complete the on-screen form: Return to the portal, follow the on-screen instructions, fill all fields carefully, and upload the required documents (O-Level results, UTME slip, birth certificate/age evidence where required, passport photo, and any additional documents stipulated).
7. Submit and print acknowledgement: After submission, print and keep the acknowledgement slip as proof of successful registration. (Screenshot and keep digital copies of your receipt and acknowledgement as backup.)
8. Follow up: Monitor the portal and FUTD’s official channels for updates on screening outcomes and any further instructions.
Important reminders & practical tips
- The screening fee is non-refundable; confirm eligibility before paying.
- Use official portals and verified school pages only; avoid third-party sellers who promise to secure admission.
- Keep all receipts, screenshots and the printed acknowledgement slip safe. You will need these if there’s a payment query.
- If the portal is unreachable, try again later during off-peak hours and check FUTD’s official channels for notices of extension or technical difficulties.
Reminder to Applicants
The University reiterated that only qualified candidates who meet the cut-off mark and have the required five O’Level credits should apply. It also advised prospective students to ensure the accuracy of their details and keep all payment receipts and acknowledgement slips for reference.
