LUTH Opens Admission into Nursing, Health Information Management, Biomedical Engineering and Other Health Programmes for 2026/2027 Session

The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Lagos, has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its various health training programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to a statement signed by Omolola O. Fakeye (JP), Director of Administration, on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for admission into National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), Diploma, Certificate and Post-Basic Nursing programmes offered by the institution.

 Available Programmes

Among the programmes available are ND/HND Nursing under the College of Nursing Sciences, ND/HND Health Information Management under the School of Health Information Management, and ND/HND Biomedical Engineering under the Federal School of Biomedical Engineering.

The institution stated that candidates seeking admission into the ND/HND Nursing programme must have obtained a minimum score of 200 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), while applicants for ND/HND Health Information Management and ND/HND Biomedical Engineering must have scored at least 160.

In addition, LUTH announced admission into several Post-Basic Nursing programmes designed to equip registered nurses with specialized skills in critical areas of healthcare delivery.

The 12-month Post-Basic Nursing programmes available for admission include Perioperative Nursing, Accident and Emergency Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Ophthalmic Nursing, Neonatal Nursing, Nephrology Nursing, Critical Care Nursing and Dental Nursing.

The institution is also accepting applications into its School of Community Health, which offers One-Year and Two-Year Higher Diploma programmes in Community Health.

Other programmes available are School of Medical and Psychiatry Social Work and Diploma Certificate Programme offered by the School of Anaesthetic Technicians.

How to Apply

Interested applicants are required to complete their applications online through the LUTH Schools Portal at luth.gov.ng.

To apply, candidates are expected to create an account using a valid email address, complete the registration process, activate their accounts through the confirmation email sent to them, and proceed to make payment through the Remita platform.

Applicants are advised to carefully read the admission requirements for their preferred programmes before making payment and completing the online application form.

Upon successful submission of the application, candidates should print their completed forms and keep them for future reference.

Important Information for Applicants

LUTH advised prospective candidates to provide valid and active email addresses, as all official communication regarding the admission process will be sent through the email addresses supplied during registration.

The institution further noted that only candidates who meet the prescribed admission requirements will be shortlisted and invited to participate in the entrance examination and subsequent stages of the admission process.

Application Deadline

According to the institution, the sale of application forms will close twelve (12) weeks from the date of publication of the admission notice, except for programmes processed through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Prospective applicants are therefore encouraged to complete their registration well ahead of the deadline to avoid last-minute challenges.
