The Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has opened applications for Post-UTME, Direct Entry, and Transfer admissions into its undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session, the university’s management announced.
MAAUN, a private university based in Kano State, offers programmes across computing, health sciences, medicine, nursing, law, environmental sciences, and the social and management sciences.

Eligibility
UTME candidates must have sat the 2026 UTME with MAAUN as their first-choice institution, meet the approved cut-off mark for their chosen programme, and hold at least five O’Level credits including English and Mathematics from no more than two sittings.
Direct Entry candidates need a National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, or equivalent qualification, along with the grades and credentials required for their preferred programme.
Transfer applicants must submit official transcripts from their previous institution, evidence of satisfactory academic standing, and any additional documents the university requests.
How to Apply
- Visit the official application portal at maaun.edu.ng/application-form.
- Complete the online form and upload O’Level results, JAMB details, a passport photograph, and any Direct Entry or transfer documents.
- Pay the application fee through the official portal only.
- Submit the application and print the acknowledgement slip.
The application fee for fresh applicants is listed at ₦50,000, non-refundable. (Applicants should confirm the exact fee and session dates directly with MAAUN’s admissions office, as third-party sources vary and admissions figures can change between announcements.)
A Warning on Fraud
MAAUN has cautioned applicants against dealing with unauthorized agents or paying into personal bank accounts.
All admissions communication and payments should go through the official website only a caution worth taking seriously, since impersonators and unofficial “admission agents” are a recurring problem around Nigerian university admissions cycles.
Applicants who receive offers to “guarantee” admission for a fee, or are directed to pay outside the official portal, should treat that as a red flag and report it to the university.
