The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has successfully disbursed ₦665,000.00 to assist 30 students at the Gombe State College of Education and Legal Studies, Nafada, in a move that underscores its commitment to easing tuition burdens and promoting access to higher education across Nigeria.
The disbursement, announced via NELFUND’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, is part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to provide targeted financial relief to students in tertiary institutions nationwide.
Timely Support for Academic Continuity
According to NELFUND, the funds are intended to cover tuition and other educational expenses for the 30 eligible students, ensuring they can continue their studies without undue financial strain.
College Expresses Gratitude
In an official appreciation letter signed by Danladi Aliyu, the NELFUND Desk Officer who represented the Acting Provost of the college, the institution praised the agency’s swift intervention:
“The college highly appreciates the timely intervention and support which has greatly eased the financial burden on our students and contributed to the smooth running of academic activities,” the letter read.
The statement further acknowledged NELFUND’s role in advancing education:
“We commend NELFUND for its commitment to educational development in Nigeria and express our continued support for this impactful initiative.”
Reinforcing a National Commitment
This Nafada disbursement joins a growing list of NELFUND’s funding interventions, which have collectively benefited hundreds of thousands of students across the country. Established in April 2024, the fund has been lauded for introducing digital application processes, transparent disbursement channels, and repayment schemes aimed at expanding access to quality education.
By providing ₦665,000 directly to one institution’s students, NELFUND continues to demonstrate that its mission is not just about large-scale figures, but also about targeted, on-the-ground impact in Nigeria’s educational communities.
