2026 UTME: Ekiti Candidate Tops Nigeria With 372 as JAMB Reveals Best Performers

An Ekiti State indigene, Owoeye Daniella Jesudusin, has emerged as the highest scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The candidate sat for the examination in Ogun State and scored 372 out of 400. She applied to study Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at University of Lagos.

The announcement was made during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in Abuja. Vanguard report

Imo, Ondo Candidates Also Shine

Enwere Kingsley Ikenna emerged first runner-up with a score of 370. Ikenna, an indigene of Imo State, sat for the examination in Lagos State. He applied to study Computer Science at Nile University.

Meanwhile, Bamisile Ayomide Emmanuel secured the second runner-up position with 369 marks. The Ondo State indigene wrote the examination in Ogun State. He applied to study Software Engineering at Federal University of Technology Abeokuta.

In addition, five candidates scored 368 to occupy the fourth position nationwide. They include Olabiyisi Olanrewaju Oluwatimileyin, Victor-Onyeka Daniel Ifeanyi, Osaglobare Daniel Osahenrumwen, Ademiluyi Adebowale Anthony, and Azuike Kenechukwu Anthony.

Similarly, four candidates scored 367 to finish in fifth position. They are Offorkile Michael Okechukwu, Adebisi Eniola Sonari, Umukoro Gift Oghenevovwero, an Ononuju Chidumebi Emmanuel.

Oloyede Reaffirms UTME Standards

Speaking during the policy meeting, JAMB Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, congratulated the outstanding candidates for their performances. He also maintained that the UTME is a ranking examination designed to place candidates for admission.

Furthermore, Oloyede stressed that JAMB remains committed to preserving the credibility and standards of the examination system. Blueprint report

Strong Competition Marks 2026 Examination

The 2026 UTME recorded intense competition across the country. Reports indicate that over two million candidates registered for the examination nationwide.

Consequently, the emergence of the top scorers has attracted widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians praising the candidates for their exceptional academic performances.
