Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has released the official screening dates for students admitted into the 2025/2026 academic session. The institution confirmed that the screening exercise will run in two phases, beginning December 1, and will follow the university’s traditional faculty-based screening pattern.
General Screening Window Started December 1
According to the notice, ABU will conduct the first phase of the screening from December 1(that is today) to December 15, 2025.
The second phase will begin on January 6, 2026, mainly for students who miss the first round or those admitted through supplementary lists.
The university explained that the general timeline aims to reduce congestion and create a smooth verification process across faculties.
Screening Remains Faculty-Based
Although ABU released the general dates, the institution did not publish a faculty-by-faculty timetable online.
However, the university confirmed that the screening will still follow the usual faculty-based model. Each faculty officer will guide students on their exact screening day within the official window.
Students are expected to check faculty notice boards, departmental groups, and official communication channels for their specific dates.
Required Documents for Verification
Candidates must report with all original documents. ABU listed the required items as follows:
1. JAMB admission letter
2. ABU admission slip
3. Original O’level results
4. Birth certificate or age declaration
5. Local government identification letter
6. Acceptance fee evidence
7. Photocopies of all documents
The university advised students to arrive early to avoid delays. Only cleared candidates will proceed to full registration.
Warnings from the University
ABU cautioned students against using unapproved agents during the exercise.
The management also stressed that screening will take place only in designated halls.
Students who appear on the wrong date may not be attended to by screening officers.
