Official Instructions for Provisionally Admitted Candidates

In a circular signed by Dr. (Mrs.) C. N. Nnebedum, the Registrar, the institution outlined the following important instructions for all provisionally admitted students:

“All candidates are STRICTLY advised to URGENTLY upload their O/Level results into JAMB portal using a JAMB approved CBT Centre, if they have not done so, and confirm that the upload has been effected in CAPS. Note that candidates’ admission cannot be processed until proper upload of O/Level results are done.”

Step-by-Step Guidelines

1. Upload O/Level Results: Candidates must immediately upload their O/Level (WAEC, NECO, etc.) results on the JAMB portal through any JAMB-approved CBT centre. Admissions will not be processed for those who fail to do so.

2. Change of Course (If Applicable): “All candidates who were provisionally recommended for admission in courses other than the ones they applied to JAMB (Advert/Shopping or Supplementary) should, as a matter of urgency, access JAMB CAPS in an accredited CBT centre and do a change of course from their original courses of application to JAMB to the courses recommended, print and drop their admission status from CAPS to the Admissions Office to enable them to be recommended in CAPS which is the only authentic way of gaining admission.”

3. Accept Admission on JAMB CAPS: “Visit the JAMB Portal and accept your admission on CAPS by clicking ‘Accept Admission’. Candidates who fail to accept their admission on JAMB CAPS would not be issued JAMB Admission Letter and would be deemed as not admitted.”

4. Generate UNN Payment Invoice: Visit www.unn.edu.ng or www.unnportal.edu.ng and log in with your JAMB registration number to generate and download a payment invoice containing a Remita number.

5. Pay Acceptance Fee: Pay the ₦30,000 acceptance fee at any commercial bank or UNN Microfinance Bank using the Remita number. Ensure that the invoice number is correctly entered and collect a confirmation slip containing your Confirmation Number and Invoice Number.

6. Print Admission Slip and Acceptance Form: Return to the UNN portal, log in again with your JAMB registration number, Confirmation Number, and Invoice Number, then print your Admission Slip and complete the Acceptance Form online.

7. Proceed with Registration: After paying the acceptance fee, continue with all other registration and payment processes as indicated on the UNN website.

8. Note on Provisional Admission: “Candidates should note that this admission is provisional. If at any time in future, including final year, it is discovered that any candidate does not possess the minimum university and the faculty/departmental entry requirements for the course as prescribed by the Senate of the University, and published in JAMB Brochure, the offer of admission will be withdrawn.”

Final Advice to Successful Candidates

Candidates are urged to complete these steps immediately to avoid forfeiture of their admission offers. Delays in uploading results, changing courses, or accepting admission on CAPS may lead to disqualification.
