The Lagos State University (LASU) has officially approved its academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session. Registration for new students begins on Monday, 15 September 2025 and the 2026/2027 academic session is scheduled to start on Monday, 6 October 2026.
According to a statement signed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, on behalf of the University Senate, the calendar was endorsed following the recommendation of the Committee of Provost, Deans and Directors (COPDD) at its meeting on Thursday, 11 September 2025.
First Semester
- Registration for new students: Monday, 15 September – Friday, 3 October 2025 (3 weeks).
- Resumption and registration for returning students; lectures for both new and returning students: Monday, 6 October – Friday, 19 December 2025 (11 weeks).
- End-of-year break: Monday, 22 December 2025 – Friday, 2 January 2026 (2 weeks).
- Revision and late registration (₦5,000 penalty): Monday, 5 January – Friday, 9 January 2026 (1 week).
- Examinations: Monday, 12 January – Friday, 6 February 2026 (4 weeks).
- Grading and uploading of results: Monday, 9 February – Friday, 20 February 2026 (2 weeks).
- Departmental and Faculty consideration and Senate approval of results: Monday, 23 February – Friday, 27 February 2026 (1 week).
New students will spend a total of 24 weeks in the first semester, while returning students will spend 21 weeks.
Second Semester
- Resumption, registration and lectures: Monday, 2 March – Friday, 22 May 2026 (12 weeks).
- Examinations: Monday, 25 May – Friday, 5 June 2026 (4 weeks).
- Grading and uploading of results: Monday, 8 June – Friday, 19 June 2026 (2 weeks).
- Departmental and Faculty consideration, ICT processing: Monday, 22 June – Friday, 26 June 2026 (1 week).
- Collation of results and Senate approval: Monday, 29 June – Friday, 3 July 2026 (1 week).
- End-of-session break begins: Monday, 6 July 2026.
The second semester will last 20 weeks, with a sessional break from Monday, 6 July – Friday, 2 October 2026. The new 2026/2027 academic session starts Monday, 6 October 2026.
