Medicine 250, Law 240: UNIJOS Opens 2026 Post-UTME Registration

Online registration has commenced for the University of Jos (UNIJOS) 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the institution’s undergraduate programmes.

Registration, which opened on Monday, July 13, 2026, will remain open until Saturday, September 12, 2026, according to an earlier admission notice issued by the university.

The screening exercise is open to candidates who selected the University of Jos as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or through Direct Entry and obtained the institution’s minimum benchmark score of 180, subject to the departmental cut-off mark for their chosen programme.

The exercise marks the commencement of the university’s admission process for the 2026/2027 academic session and is expected to attract thousands of applicants seeking placement across the institution’s diverse academic programmes.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the screening exercise, candidates must:

• Select the University of Jos as their first-choice institution.
• Obtain a minimum UTME score of 180 and meet the departmental cut-off mark for their chosen course.
• Upload their O’Level results to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
• Complete the online registration and pay the prescribed screening fee.
• Possess the required qualifications for their chosen programme in the case of Direct Entry applicants.

How to Register

Eligible candidates should complete their registration by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the University of Jos admissions portal at portal.unijos.edu.ng

Step 2: Click Forms Application and select 2026 UTME/DE Screening.

Step 3: Carefully read the instructions displayed on the screen before proceeding.

Step 4: Enter your JAMB Registration Number and click Get Started.

Step 5: Create an account by providing a valid email address, phone number and password.

Step 6: Submit the registration form and activate your account through the link sent to your email address.

Step 7: Log in using your registered email address and password.

Step 8: Click Make Payment and complete the screening fee payment.

Step 9: Print both the University payment receipt and the Remita receipt.

Step 10: Print your completed screening summary slip and keep it for future reference.

Important Information for Applicants

The university stated that only candidates who selected the University of Jos as their first-choice institution would be available on the admission portal for registration.

Applicants are advised to confirm that they meet the cut-off mark for their preferred programme before registering. Candidates who do not meet the requirement are encouraged to effect a change of course through JAMB before proceeding with registration.

The institution also stressed that only candidates who have uploaded their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS will be considered for admission.

Furthermore, successful candidates must accept their admission offers on JAMB CAPS within four weeks of release before the admission can reflect on the University of Jos portal. Failure to comply with this requirement or other admission guidelines may result in delays or exclusion from the admission process.

With registration scheduled to close on September 12, 2026, prospective students are encouraged to complete their applications early and carefully verify all information submitted to avoid errors that could affect their admission prospects.
