Yobe State University Opens 2026/2027 Post-UTME/DE Screening; Sets Medicine Cut-off at 225

Yobe State University (YSU) has commenced registration for its 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for eligible candidates seeking admission into the institution.

The university announced that the online screening exercise, which began on July 8, 2026, will close on August 1, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the institution, only candidates who selected Yobe State University as their first-choice institution and attained the prescribed minimum UTME scores for their preferred programmes are eligible to participate in the exercise.

The commencement of the screening exercise marks the beginning of the university’s admission process for the 2026/2027 academic session and is expected to attract thousands of applicants seeking placement into the institution’s various undergraduate programmes.

The university said candidates must meet the following minimum UTME scores to be eligible for the screening exercise.

Documents Required

Applicants are expected to upload the following documents during registration:

1. Original UTME result slip or Direct Entry registration slip.
2.  SSCE result obtained in not more than two sittings.
3.  Certificate of origin.
4. Primary School Leaving Certificate.
5.  Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age.
6.  HND, ND, NCE or IJMB results for Direct Entry candidates.

How to Register for the YSU 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening

Prospective candidates are required to complete the following steps:

Step 1: Generate a REMITA Retrieval Reference (RRR) number through an accredited cyber café or the REMITA platform.

Step 2: Pay the prescribed screening fee of ₦2,000 using the generated RRR.

Step 3: Print the REMITA payment receipt after successful payment.

Step 4: Visit the university’s Post-UTME portal and begin the online registration process. https://ysu.edu.ng/putme

Step 5: Complete the registration form with the required personal and academic information.

Step 6: Upload all required credentials and supporting documents.

Step 7: Carefully review all entries before final submission.

Step 8: Print the registration acknowledgement slip and keep it for future reference.

Important Notice to Applicants

Candidates are advised to ensure that the names and details on all uploaded documents correspond exactly with those used during JAMB registration. Any discrepancy may affect their admission consideration.

Applicants should also ensure that their O’Level results have been uploaded to the JAMB portal, as failure to do so may affect admission processing.

Candidates are advised to rely on the university’s admission portal and seek clarification where necessary.

With the August 1 deadline approaching, eligible candidates are encouraged to complete their registration early and ensure all required documents are uploaded successfully. The university further advised applicants to verify their information carefully before submission, as errors, omissions or incomplete documentation could affect their admission prospects.

Prospective students are also urged to avoid last-minute registration to reduce the risk of technical difficulties and other challenges that may arise close to the closing date.
