OAUTHC Opens 2026/2027 Nursing Admission, Announces Screening Schedule for Applicants

The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, has commenced admissions into its College of Nursing Sciences for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The admission exercise covers the institution’s campuses in Ile-Ife and Ilesa and is open to qualified candidates seeking admission into its nursing programmes.

According to a notice issued by the institution, applications are being accepted under the college’s vision of “Training Excellent Nurses, Transforming Healthcare.”

OAUTHC is one of Nigeria’s leading teaching hospitals and a major centre for the training of healthcare professionals.

Programmes Available

Applications are open for admission into:

  • National Diploma/Higher National Diploma (ND/HND) Nursing Programme.
  • Post Basic Perioperative Nursing Programme.

The programmes are designed to provide students and nursing professionals with the academic and clinical skills required for modern healthcare practice.

ND/HND Nursing Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the ND/HND Nursing Programme must:

  • Score at least 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  • Possess five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Obtain the required credits in not more than two sittings.
  • Select OAUTHC College of Nursing Sciences as their first-choice institution.
  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Present a valid WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result. However, candidates using NABTEB results are not permitted to combine them with another examination result.

In addition, applicants must have sat for UTME using English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics as their subject combination.

The institution also noted that successful candidates may be posted to either the Ile-Ife or Ilesa campus upon admission.

Requirements for Post Basic Perioperative Nursing Programme

Applicants for the Post Basic Perioperative Nursing Programme must:

  • Be registered nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • Possess five O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Obtain the credits in not more than two sittings.
  • Have at least one year of post-qualification experience.
  • Present a valid practising status as required by the programme.

The programme provides specialist training for nurses seeking to build careers in perioperative and surgical nursing practice.

For the ND/HND Nursing programme, the official application and screening fees for the last admission cycle totalled ₦15,000, comprising screening and portal access charges. Applicants should confirm the applicable fees for the current admission cycle on the portal before making payment.

Upload all required credentials and supporting documents as instructed on the portal.

ND/HND Nursing applicants should also ensure their O’Level results are uploaded to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), as this is part of the admission requirements.

Application Deadlines and Screening Dates

According to the admission notice, the following timelines have been approved for the 2026/2027 admission exercise:

ND/HND Nursing Programme

  • Application deadline: September 7, 2026
  • Computer-Based Test (CBT): September 14, 2026

Post Basic Perioperative Nursing Programme

  • Application deadline: August 21, 2026
  • Written examination: August 24, 2026
  •  Oral interview: August 25, 2026
