Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has commenced the sale of Post-UTME screening forms for admission into its National Diploma (ND) programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The institution, one of the prominent state-owned polytechnics in North-Central Nigeria, disclosed that online registration for the screening exercise will begin on Monday, May 25, 2026, and end on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
The admission exercise is open to suitably qualified candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and meet the Polytechnic’s admission requirements.

Eligibility Requirements
According to the Polytechnic, “Candidates must have chosen Kogi State Polytechnic as their institution of choice in the 2026 UTME and scored a minimum of 100.” Furthermore, “Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.”
In addition, “Candidates must take note of the required subject combinations for each programme as displayed on the Polytechnic’s admission portal, and ensure they meet the specific requirements for their chosen course.” Meanwhile, candidates awaiting the release of their O’Level results may also apply. The institution stated that “Candidates who are awaiting O’Level results and meet the minimum UTME score of 100 may apply but must indicate their status appropriately during registration.”
The Polytechnic further noted that “All candidates must provide a functional phone number, valid email address, and National Identification Number (NIN).” Consequently, applicants are advised to ensure that all contact details supplied during registration remain active. This is because “The modalities for the screening process will be communicated via SMS and email using the contact details provided during registration.”
Step-by-Step Registration Procedure
Eligible candidates can complete their application by following the procedure below:
Step 1: Visit the Admission Portal
Candidates should visit the Polytechnic’s official website or proceed directly to the admission portal and click on “Apply Now.”
Step 2: Generate Payment Details
Applicants should create an account and generate the necessary payment details for the screening exercise.
Step 3: Pay the Screening Fee
The management stated that “Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of N2,000 (Two Thousand Naira) only.”
Step 4: Complete the Online Application Form
After successful payment, candidates should fill in their personal details, UTME information, O’Level results, NIN, email address, and phone number.
Step 5: Upload Required Documents
Applicants are expected to upload relevant credentials and supporting documents as required on the portal.
Step 6: Review and Submit
Candidates should carefully review all entries before final submission to avoid mistakes that could affect their application.
Step 7: Print Application Slip
After submission, applicants are advised to print and keep a copy of their acknowledgement or application slip for future reference.

The Polytechnic emphasized that “Preference shall be given to candidates who selected Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja as their first-choice institution and have successfully uploaded the required five (5) O’Level credits on the JAMB portal.” Similarly, applicants must ensure that every detail provided during registration is accurate and verifiable.
According to the institution, “All applicants are strongly advised to use their correct details during registration.”
The management also warned that “Any falsification of information will lead to automatic disqualification.”
Furthermore, prospective students should avoid dealing with unauthorized persons. The institution stressed that “The Polytechnic will not engage the services of any agent.”
