Understanding Your JAMB Admission Letter

The JAMB Admission Letter is a notification that officially confirms that you have been offered provisional admission into any higher institution.

Here is what you can find in your JAMB admission letter:

Institutions offering admission: This can be a university, polytechnic, monotechnic or college of education. Prior to this, you may have approved your admission status via the Central Admission Processing System. Your name may also be on the list of admitted candidates.

Course you’ve been admitted to: This includes the faculty, department and degree your course of study belongs to. For instance, if you have been admitted to study dentistry, the faculty and department, which are medical sciences and dental sciences, respectively, will be indicated in the letter.

Conditions: The letter also contains a list of conditions you are to fulfill during the screening process.

 

How To Print JAMB Admission Letter

Here’s how to print JAMB Admission Letter:

Step 1: Visit the JAMB portal

First, you have to access the JAMB Portal by entering https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/ in your browser’s URL space. Ensure your login details are accurate and then select “Login”.

Step 2: Navigate to the menu bar on your JAMB profile home page

Go to the menu bar and select the “Print Admission Letter” button. On the next page, find the transaction ID.

Step 3: Confirm the information is correct before making payment for your JAMB admission letter printout

Now, confirm that the information shown on the “Confirmation Page” is accurate. Also, pay attention to the Transaction ID highlighted in bold red text.

Transaction ID helps you track and identify that specific transaction in case of payment failures. You will receive a copy via email.

Step 4: Complete payment

Afterwards, select the “Continue” button. You have the option of paying with your bank card. It is the quickest method.

Alternatively, you can utilise other payment methods, such as Quickteller or Bank payment.

However, payment via your bank card will redirect you to the Interswitch Payment page, where you will need to input your card information and select the “Pay” option. The service cost ranges from ₦1,000 to ₦2,000.

Step 5: Confirm your transaction success

Check the status of your payment, which is shown in the “My Payment Section”. Once you have completed your payment without any issues, an email or text message will be sent to you that includes your transaction ID and payment status.

Next, select “Continue”.

Step 6: Print your JAMB admission letter

After paying, you have to input the following information into the space provided.

a. Exam year

b. JAMB Reg Number.

Once you input the above accurately, select the “enter” option, and you will be redirected to a new page with a letter.

Select the “Print” or “Download” option and check for the page to fully load. Next, print it if you are using a printer.

Be sure you store the soft copy on your PC or smartphone. This can be used to restore the original hard copy if it gets lost.

 

What to Do After Receiving Your JAMB Admission Letter

Here are the steps you can take after printing your JAMB admission letter:

Carefully review the admission letter and understand its contents

Go through the admission letter and take note of your course of study as well as the duration. You should also pay attention to the conditions needed to fulfill the provisional admission.

Access the admission portal of the institution offering admission

Visit the admission portal of the institution you have been admitted to. This is essential in case you need to pay for the acceptance fee or if there is any information regarding the physical screening or submission.

Finalize any necessary online registration or acceptance procedures

You may need to complete payment for acceptance and clearance processing fees, if required. This is the money you need to pay to accept the admission offer. Payments may be made online or at a bank. It is advisable to properly store all payment print-outs as they will be presented during the screening process.

Prepare necessary documents for Screening and registration

The last step is to compile and arrange all the important paperwork that will be required for screening. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Birth certificate
