JAMB Profile: How to Create It and Get Your Profile Code

Quick answer: To create your JAMB profile, send NIN, a space, then your 11-digit National Identification Number to 55019 or 66019 from your own phone number, for example NIN 12345678901. JAMB replies by SMS with your profile code. You use that code to buy your UTME or Direct Entry e-PIN, then finish registration in person at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre, where you also give the email address you will use to log in to your JAMB e-facility account.

For the 2026 UTME, e-PIN sales ran from 19 January to 26 February 2026 and registration ran from 26 January to 28 February 2026, and JAMB refused to extend it. What Your JAMB Profile Is

Your JAMB profile is your record with the Board. It is tied to three things that stay with you after the exam:

Your NIN. JAMB pulls your name, date of birth, gender and state of origin from the NIMC database.
Your phone number. It receives your profile code, your e-PIN and every JAMB message.
Your email address. It becomes your login for the JAMB e-facility portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, where you later print your exam slip, check your result, accept admission on CAPS and print your admission letter.

How to Create Your JAMB Profile (Step by Step)

1. Check your NIN details first

Make sure your name, date of birth, gender and state of origin are correct on your NIN record. JAMB copies them from NIMC, so a CBT centre cannot change them for you. If anything is wrong, correct it with NIMC before you request your profile code. JAMB’s FAQ also asks candidates to make sure their NIN details tally with their other documents, such as O’level results.

2. Use a phone number that is yours alone

JAMB does not allow two candidates to use the same number. Your SIM stays your identifier for all present and future JAMB services, so do not use a sibling’s or parent’s line that JAMB has seen before. If you are using a new or rarely used SIM, ask your network about its Keep My Number service so the line is not reissued to someone else.

3. Send your NIN to 55019 or 66019

Type NIN, a space, and your 11-digit NIN, for example NIN 12345678901.
Send it to 55019 or 66019.
The SMS is charged to your airtime, so keep some credit on the line.
JAMB replies with your profile code. Write it down and keep it private.

If you created a profile code for a past UTME, do not create another one. Send RESEND to 55019 or 66019 from the same number to reactivate it.

4. Buy your e-PIN with the profile code

Present your profile code when paying for the application document at a bank, mobile money operator, microfinance bank, payment switch or USSD partner. Payment is cashless. After payment, JAMB sends your e-PIN by SMS to your registered number.

5. Register in person at an accredited CBT centre

Take your profile code and e-PIN to a JAMB-accredited CBT centre. JAMB requires you to be there in person. At the centre:

Your photograph and all ten fingerprints are captured.
You give a valid personal email address you can always open. This becomes your e-facility login, so do not let the operator create one for you.
You choose your institutions, courses, UTME subjects and exam town.
You enter your O’level results, or select “awaiting result” and upload them as soon as they are out.
You check everything on the screen, then confirm with your fingerprint. Your registration slip is printed after that.

Lost Profile Code, e-PIN or Password

Lost the SIM you used for JAMB?

JAMB runs a Profiled Email service for this. Go to an accredited CBT centre, ask for the lost-SIM template (TEMPL 006), and give a new email address that has never been used on any JAMB platform. Once you confirm the new email, the 55019/66019 services (password reset, RESEND, result, e-PIN) work through your profile, and JAMB messages appear in a Messages menu on your e-facility account.

Avoid These Profile Scams

Your profile code comes only from the 55019/66019 SMS. Nobody can “create” it for you for a fee.
Buy your e-PIN only through JAMB’s approved payment channels, and register only at JAMB-accredited CBT centres. Unapproved cybercafés cannot register you.
Never give anyone your e-facility password. JAMB says no centre is allowed to ask for or accept it.
If a centre demands extra money, ask what it is for and report it to JAMB at support.jamb.gov.ng.

JAMB Profile FAQ

How do I log in to my JAMB profile?

Go to efacility.jamb.gov.ng and log in with the email address and password linked to your profile, not your phone number. If you see “invalid login”, check the email for typos, then reset the password by SMS or with the “Forgot your Password?” link.

Can I create a second JAMB profile?

No. JAMB does not allow more than one registration per candidate. If something is wrong, ask JAMB for a correction instead of starting a new profile.

My name on JAMB is different from my O’level result. What do I do?

JAMB uses your NIN record. Fix the error with NIMC first, then ask at an accredited CBT centre how to get JAMB to pull your updated details. Do this before admission screening, because schools check that your documents match.
