JAMB Syllabus for 2027 UTME: Official PDFs for All Subjects

Quick answer: The official JAMB syllabus is free on JAMB’s IBASS portal at ibass.jamb.gov.ng (tap E-syllabus, pick your subject, then View details). JAMB has not released a new syllabus for the 2027 UTME. The current one, published in July 2025, is what you should study with until JAMB announces a change.

Which JAMB syllabus to use for the 2027 UTME

• Current edition: the subject syllabus PDFs on IBASS are dated July 2025. They were still unchanged when we checked on 11 October 2026.
• 2027 edition: JAMB has not announced a new syllabus for the 2027 UTME. If it does, it will appear on IBASS first. Do not pay anyone for a “2027 JAMB syllabus”. The official one is free.
• Use of English text: the reading text for the 2026 UTME was The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba. JAMB has not yet said whether it stays for 2027. See our Lekki Headmaster summary.

How to get the JAMB syllabus on IBASS

1. Open ibass.jamb.gov.ng. This is JAMB’s Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System. The old address, jamb.gov.ng/ibass, now opens the same portal.
2. Tap E-syllabus in the menu.
3. Find your subject in the list. There are three pages of subjects, or you can type it into Search Subjects.
4. Tap View details. The syllabus opens as a PDF on the page.
5. Repeat for each of your four UTME subjects, including Use of English.

IBASS has a syllabus for these 25 UTME subjects:

What the JAMB syllabus contains

Each subject syllabus lists the topics JAMB can set questions from. For each topic it gives:

1. Topics and contents: the main topics and their sub-topics.
2. Objectives: what you should be able to do for each topic, such as define, calculate, compare or explain.
3. Recommended texts: textbooks JAMB suggests for the subject. IBASS also lists them under Materials.

UTME questions come from these topics. If a topic is not in the syllabus, it is not part of the exam for that subject.

How to study with the syllabus

1. Print or save it. Keep the syllabus for each of your four subjects where you can tick topics off.
2. Plan by topic, not by textbook. Divide each syllabus into weekly blocks. Aim to finish every topic at least a month before the exam so you have time to revise.
3. Read the objectives. They tell you how deep to go. “Calculate” means you need to work problems, not just know the definition.
4. Practise past questions topic by topic. After each block, answer past questions on the same topics. Get free ones on our JAMB past questions page or at PastQuestions.ng.
5. Practise on a computer. The UTME is a computer-based test. Get used to the format with a JAMB CBT practice app.

Avoid syllabus scams

• The official syllabus is free on IBASS. Nobody needs to send you a “new 2027 syllabus” for a fee.
• Ignore WhatsApp messages that claim JAMB has “removed” or “added” topics. Any change will show on IBASS.
• Confirm anything you hear about the 2027 UTME on JAMB’s official channels: jamb.gov.ng and ibass.jamb.gov.ng.
