The ₦3,500 quoted in some 2026 news reports is that ₦2,600 plus the CBT centre’s own handling charge, which JAMB does not fix; centres commonly add ₦500 to ₦1,000. When the Change of Course Window Opens

JAMB opens the correction of data window after it releases UTME results. It is announced by the Board’s spokesperson, not on a fixed calendar date.
In 2026, JAMB’s spokesperson announced in mid-May 2026 that the portal for change of institution, course and correction of data was open. Original result-slip printing was set to start on Monday, 18 May 2026.

How to Change Your Course or Institution

Check that you qualify for the new choice. Your UTME subjects must match the new course, and your score must meet the school’s cut-off. Use the JAMB subject combination guide and the official JAMB IBASS brochure.
Go to a JAMB-accredited CBT centre with your JAMB registration number, your profile code and the phone number you registered with.
Pay for the correction of data service through JAMB’s payment platform. Keep the transaction ID.
Make the change and check it on the screen before you approve. Confirm the institution, course and order of choices.
Confirm it on your account. Log in to JAMB e-facility with your email and password and check that your new choices show. Later, track your offer on CAPS through your JAMB admission status.

Already Admitted and Want to Move Schools?

A change of institution is for candidates still seeking admission. If you are already a student and want to move to another institution, that is a transfer. JAMB lists “Application for Transfer (Foreign/Local)” at ₦7,000 plus a ₦300 service charge. Start with the admissions office of the school you want to move to.

Avoid Change of Course Scams

Only JAMB-accredited CBT centres and JAMB offices can process the change. No agent can “upgrade” your choice to a school that has not offered you admission.
Do not pay extra to anyone who promises admission after the change. Admission is decided by the school on CAPS.
