This is why the JAMB Change of Course/Institution exists. It is a formal request to JAMB to switch to another course or programme. The entire process is done online.

Eligibility for JAMB Change of Course/Institution

Before you complete your JAMB change of course/institution, you’ll need to meet certain eligibility requirements:

Apply before the closing date or deadline set by JAMB

There is a time frame for interested candidates to purchase and apply for the change of course and institution online. It usually lasts for months or weeks, at the discretion of JAMB. Thus, timely application is key. After the deadline, the sale of the form will stop.

According to reports, the 17th of February 2026 is the deadline for applying for JAMB change of Institution and course in 2025/2026.

Have not changed course/institution more than twice in the past

For correction of personal data, you can only effect the change(s) once. However, you are free to change your course and institution no more than twice. Thus, if you have bought the form at least once in the past, you are eligible to purchase the form.

Your JAMB registration number
Mobile Number
JAMB Profile Code
JAMB Login Information.
2,500 Naira (the cost of the change of course/institution form)

The JAMB Change of Course/Institution Process

In your web browser, sign into your JAMB profile
Navigate to the menu section and select Register. A page will open with a “UTME Correction of Data” option.
Select it and follow the on-instructions to make payment via physical bank or online.
It is advisable to pay in the bank if you encounter issues paying online.
Once you have successfully paid, you will be requested to input the information below: a. Year of Exam and JAMB Registration Number.
You will find new options which will enable you to choose new course/Institution and second choices will appear.
Select the Complete button to finalize your application.

Factors to Consider Before the Change of Course/Institution Application

Consider the following important factors for a successful change of course and institution:

Ensure your UTME score meets the cut-off for the new course and institution. If it is lower, then it is likely that you will not be given admission.
If you are changing your course, be sure your UTME subjects align with it. Otherwise, your chances of admission will be lower.
Some institutions may not have spaces for new candidates. Thus, change of institution is based on availability.
